Keeping your ADSL Protected and Secured

10 January 2015 - As the world from voice to data services, we also realise an increase in demand for our ADSL service which has been perfectly priced and now available for our Pre-Paid customers. From gaming and entertainment to social networking and video streaming, customers across Swaziland can quickly and simply connect to the internet when and how they want, and enjoy the amazing world of ADSL broadband Internet. ADSL Broadband is a high speed, ‘always on’ internet access service that utilizes your existing copper line to send and receive data at high speeds that surpass conventional dial-up connection.

Although ADSL provides shared bandwidth, it far exceeds dial-up connection in terms of speed. It offers high performance at low cost, which makes it suitable for small to medium size companies and home use.

Benefits of having ADSL service.

  1. Primarily it’s the Speed. ADSL broadband provides high-speed data access - e.g. potentially 10 to 40 times faster than today's typical modems.
  2. It does not affect the telephone, so you can make and receive telephone calls or faxes whilst you’re online.
  3. ADSL service transforms your ordinary analogue line into a high speed multi-tasking point. Hence multiple computers can be able to access the internet at the same time.
  4. It provides an always on connection at a monthly flat rate. There is no need to dial every time you connect to the internet.

Current packaged solutions

SwaziTelecom is currently offering the following packages:
  1. Prepaid Packages: these target only residential customers. To activate a prepaid package you must purchase SwaziTelecom recharge vouchers worth the chosen package value and load the airtime using your landline. Once the package is loaded it will be automatically converted into the package that you selected at application stage.
  2. Post-paid packages: these target both residential and business customers. The business market includes SME’s and Corporates that require Internet connectivity. To enjoy the service post-paid customers are required to pay for the service at the end of each month

An ADSL package is a package that allows you to browse the internet on your high speed ADSL line and pay for all the Megabytes or Gigabytes of files you download (here we are talking about things like your Yahoo email usage, Google usage, Video downloads, YouTube usage, Facebook usage, Online gaming, file downloads, skype usage, etc... anything you do on the internet). Your ADSL account will be counting up all the megabytes or gigabytes of files you download from the internet and websites where you spend time browsing around. Once the total gigabytes for all your internet usage reach your chosen package allotment you must wait for month end. If you need to use the service and you are a prepaid customer you can load more airtime and you will be charged a pay as you surf rate of E0.16. Post-paid customers will be charged the same E0.16 on their monthly bill depending on how many megabytes or gigabytes they have used.
